Welcome to my Endangered Animals Topic. It's one of my favourites!

Endangered Animals

Endangered animals are whole groups of animals, which are in danger of dying out and for them to never be on Earth again. If every single one of these animals dies then they become extinct. Unfortunately some animals have become extinct, just like the dinosaurs.

Wouldn't it be awful if some of these amazing creatures became extinct like the dinosaurs. Can you imagine a world where some of these animals didn't exist anymore?

Endangered Species

Lot of animals are divided up into different species. They are the same animal but have slight differences, based on physical differences or where they live. For example there are three species of elephant – African Bush Elephants, African Forest Elephants and Asian Elephants.

Then some species are divided again into subspecies! For example there is only one species of tiger, but then there are six subspecies alive now, which are the Amur, Bengal, Sumatran, Indochinese, Malayan and South China Tigers . Three subspecies have in recent times become extinct, these were the Bali, Javan and Caspian Tigers.

Sadly some amazing species have become extinct, not just the dinosaurs! Even animals such as tigers have extinct species. But, amazing people across the world are doing incredible things to try and save endangered species.
